Hope Starts with Home

In 1981, a group of passionate Sisters of Mercy saw a critical need for quality affordable housing and created Mercy Housing. Other Women Religious joined them in their housing ministry over the years and together, these visionary women created the strong foundation for our mission, vision, and core values that we continue to stand on today.

We follow the Sisters’ tradition to speak and act in the belief that affordable housing is a basic human right, no matter a person’s religion, background or beliefs. Today, Mercy Housing is the largest affordable housing nonprofit in the country, with a presence in 45 states and Puerto Rico, and we are committed to delivering on our mission for generations to come.

Are you looking for a housing partner that shares your values and commitment?

If you are reflecting how to leverage unused real estate assets or make legacy investments to act on your affordable housing ministry, we invite you to contemplate partnering with Mercy Housing. Together we can continue to ensure that people have safe homes, and that residents receive the resources they need to move forward in life.
